Willkommen

Ni Fan, born in 1989, grew up in Peking in a family of musicians.

She took her first piano lessons at the age of 4 and started with percussion at 10. From 2001 until 2007 she studied percussion at „The Middle School“  in cooperation with the “Central Conservatory

 Of Music“ in Peking. She continued her bachelor studies with professor Biao Li at the Conservatory, where she graduated with honors.

In the years 2007-2010 Ni Fan has been awarded with the National Scholarship of China and has performed as Solo Timpanist with the “Youth Symphony Orchestra of China”.

She started her master studies 2010 at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Biao Li (solo percussion), Rainer Seegers (timpani) and Franz Schindlbeck (orchestra percussion).

Deutsche Welle produces portrait on Ni Fan

In october 2013, Ni Fan was the first percussionist honoured with the PRIX Montblanc award for young soloists. Deutsche Welle produced a video portrait on the young musician.

Ni Fan honoured with PRIX Montblanc

On October 30, at the Konzerthaus Berlin, Ni Fan is receiving the prestigious PRIX Montblanc. Together with the Philharmonie der Nationen under the baton of Justus Franz, she will be performing the piece "Marimba Spiritual" by Minoru Miki.

First and Third Prize @ Hanns Eisler Prize for the composition and performance of contemporary music

Ni Fan wins the first and third at this year's Hanns Eisler competition for the compositon and performance of contemporary music for the outstanding interpretation of contemporary musical works. Congratulations!
